Career Development

While enlisted in the United States ARMY, I learned more about my personal limits and strengths. The military developed my work ethic, concept of teamwork, leadership and began to mold who I am today. I discovered more about various cultures, societies, and importantly, people. My time in service allowed me to complete my education.

The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas is known to uphold educational excellence while developing their students to be successful in their industry fields. Accepted t School of Media and Design, I continued my studies in Fashion Design. I gained knowledge of the Fashion Industry and finished my studies in Fashion Management and Merchandising. It was during my senior year that I held an internship that would develop my career path.

Hazel Smyth Jewelry is owned and operated by jewelry designer Elizabeth Herff. As the intern, I was able to learn business operations such as, design, manufacturing, quality control, assembly, merchandising and sales. Upon graduation I continued as an independent contractor.

​

As a Seasonal Sales Associate for Aaron C. Penaloza Jelwlers, I learned the standards of customer service, jewelry presentation, repair and sale of fine jewelry.

 

During my time as a Sales Associate with Dillard's, I not only completed sales, but I merchadised the jewelry caseline and the specialty handbag sections of Coach and Dooney & Bourke. I participated with the merge of James Avery Artisan Jewelry and Dillard's. As a part of the accessories department, I successfully completed the James Avery Certified Expert Program.

 

As a Seasonal Sales Associate of the new James Avery at the Rivercenter Mall, in downtown San Antonio, I was able to utilize my knowledge and experience to enhance customer service. As I became a Sales Associate I worked as a team to accomplish sales goals, customer repairs and services. Achieving Sales Team Leader I was able to guide the sales team to meet daily metrics, and tasks. I brought forth my customer service experince and was able troubleshoot customer inquires and orders. Other management duties were completed from replenishment, order processing, daily counts, deposits, as well as store opening and closing operations.

As a Sales Leas=d for Francesca's, I was a member of the leadership team. Focus was coaching and rewarding the sales floor Stylists. Emphasis was on guest experience and sales goals. I assisted store operations, visial merchamdising, and maintained brand standards.

 

As a Sales Associate with Skechers, I developed my approach in determining customer needs. Product knowledge and guidence allowed customers to choose products based on comfort, function, design and aesthetic.

 

Transitioning from retail sales, I expanded my career to Front Desk Receptionist and Office Assistant at Coyote Canyon Truck Accessories. With the shop specializing in aftermarket vehicle accessories and custom welding, my role has been to assist in customer service and marketing. Customer orders are determined by function, need, aesthetic, and installtion turnaround. I research various distributors for the correct parts, price and delivery. I aslo complete customer estimates, invoice, emails, and payment. I demonstrate strong communication skills to keep all shop members aware of customers orders, inquires, and installations. I maintain and promote the shop through Social Media Marketing and Email Marketing through the various platforms of,  Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, and Constant Contact. I am able to monitor click rates, opens, bounces, and shares.
